Draped bust of Bahram IV, to right, wearing elaborate crown with korymbos; around, illegible legend. Rev. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, about extremely fine.

This rare and interesting issue was probably struck in Taxila during the Kidarite occupation of the city in circa 390. The Kidarites were a belligerent Hunnic tribe that were dreaded both by the Sasanians in the west and the Gupta Empire in the east.
